Construction Notes

This HF SDR Reciever is extremely simple and is more a test of your mechanical skills than anything. Simple is good every once in a while and it is fun to do some mechanical fabrication every now and then especially if the results exceed your expectations. This project marries the ever popular and dirt cheap RTL2382U DVB-T Reciever/SDR, an Upconverter so we can recieve HF frequencies and a Low Noise Amplifier as a hearing aide for the SDR. Layout is non critical as long as you keep all leads and cables short and sweet. You should mount your project in some sort of metal enclosure as to minimize interfering signals from being picked up by the SDR. As with all my projects I enclose a parts lists and information on the parts I choose to use. You may find parts cheaper or already on hand. I have included my mechanical drawings if you want to use the same enclosure. Most importantly have fun, take some pride in your project and learn something.
